THE VISION FOR EXTENDING FAITH


To extend the Gospel reach of Faith Bible Church, by mobilizing our people to strengthen our Coltrane congregation and establish new congregations in Edmond, Oklahoma City, and to the ends of the earth.


"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Join us in prayer during this season of Extending Faith. Please use this prayer points as a simple guide as we seek the Lord together with humility, unity, and trust. Our desire is not to move ahead quickly, but to walk carefully and faithfully as God leads our church. Our desire is to keep our hearts anchored in dependence on the Lord as we ask Him to guide us in the days ahead.

If you would like a printed copy, prayer cards will be available in the Worship Center on Sundays to take home and use throughout the week.

PRAYER REQUESTS

For Leadership | That God would give Spirit-led wisdom to our elders and staff.
For the Body | That each person would respond to how God is calling them to participate.
For Unity | That we would continue to be marked by gospel unity and a passion for Christ.
For Bold Witness | That we would speak the gospel with courage and love.
For the Lost | That God would draw the unchurched to Himself through us.
For Provision | That our church would give with joy and generosity.

EXPAND

To faithfully serve nearly 3,000 people each Sunday we have already opened up thousands of square feet of on-campus ministry space. In 2026 we are going to add additional parking, we are also developing a plan to build classrooms and new office space so we can bring our church staff back from their current offsite offices.

PLANT

To fulfill our commitment to making, maturing and mobilizing disciples we are going to plant a Faith Bible Church congregation in the Quail Springs Area.

MULTIPLY

To serve the growing population of greater Edmond/N. Oklahoma City, in the next ten years we are hoping to establish a network of new congregations.
Additionally, we are going to EXPAND involvement with our primary missions partners. We hope to resource a church PLANT in each of our primary partner locations (Shidler neighborhood, amongst the Dawnu, and amongst the Tarahumara), and we want to help facilitate a church planting movement that will MULTIPLY churches in each of these areas.

Throughout the coming months, we will host a series of Mobilization Meetings designed to help our church family better understand the vision and direction of Extending Faith. These gatherings will provide opportunities to hear updates, ask questions, pray together, and learn more about how God may be leading Faith Bible Church into the next season of ministry.

FAQs

Why don't we buy land and build an entirely new church building somewhere in East Edmond?
Buying the needed acreage and building a 130,000 SF building would be a $100+ million project. We don't believe that's the best stewardship of our resources. We also value
the East Edmond location we've occupied for over 40 years.
What about just adding onto our building at Coltrane?
Any substantial addition to our building would require hundreds of more parking spaces, which our landlocked, 15-acre campus doesn't allow. Even if we tried to accommodate hundreds more cars on our campus by incurring the expense of a parking garage, the increased volume of cars would exacerbate the already challenging Sunday morning traffic problems.
Have we looked at land around us to expand our campus and parking?
Yes. We've tried to buy adjacent land for these purposes but have been unsuccessful. We do have offsite parking for Sunday morning staff and volunteers, but the congestion on Coltrane Road prevents an efficient parking shuttle from being a scalable solution.
Why Quail Springs Parkway?
We purchased a building in that area at a significant discount. Buying an existing building, with plenty of available parking, and remodeling it for our purposes is a fraction of the cost of building something new. In addition, the location gives us a reach into far west Edmond and NW OKC that we don't currently have.
Aren't there several churches in that area already?
Yes! There are a few great churches in that area, but as that area continues to grow there are plenty of people who are without a church home. We want to faithfully step into that opportunity by engaging with those people and discipling them in God’s Word.
What happens next?
A timeline is being established to mobilize a group from Faith Bible to launch the new church. As early as September 2027 this group will begin worship services at the newly remodeled building on Quail Springs Parkway.
What percentage of the funds raised will go to other church planting projects - South OKC, the Dawnu and the Tarahumara?
Those funds will be directed by our missions team and elders as they keep up with ongoing needs and opportunities. We usually give around 10% of capital campaign gifts to missions.
