Faith Bible Church, Coronavirus Response

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Dear Church Family,

We will not gather for at least the next two Sundays—March 22nd and March 29th, 2020.

In addition, through March 30th, we are suspending any church calendar event involving more than 10 people.

We simply do not know how long the current restrictions will keep us from meeting together in our building. Every day new guidelines emerge and we dare not project very far into the future. But here is what we do know: we are getting through this and the strong bonds that unite us to Jesus and to one another will absolutely sustain us. Our connection to one another is not merely emotional or societal. We really are the body of Christ.

Therefore, the task before us is to find new and creative ways to minister to one another while still reaching a lost and fearful world with the saving and comforting Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Facebook, Zoom meetings, social media, phone calls, and texts / GroupMe messaging we can encourage each other and remind ourselves that we are far from isolated. Again, we are His body and members in particular (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

So here are few ways connection will keep happening at FBC:

  • Using Zoom, Facetime and other platforms for their groups to pray and interact
  • Also using MyFaithLink to organize ministry needs and requests.

  • Using the phone App Marco Polo for a 15-day Quarantine Challenge, where they are reading through the book of Mark.

  • Distributing a care package for you to drive thru and pick up to help disciple your child at home (will send notice when ready).
  • Sending out personal letters to all our kids.

  • We have mobilized a team to obtain groceries, prescriptions, or other necessities for those who should remain isolated. If you have a need we can address please call this number: (405) 657-6166 or click on this link to submit your need using this form2020-Mission: Coronavirus Need Request

  • If you feel led to minister to those around you here is a card you can print off and tape on doors in your neighborhood.

We believe that if we navigate this short season well, Faith Bible will emerge more oriented toward others, more focused on the Gospel, and more in love with Jesus than ever before.

The pastors and staff plan to do everything in our power to stay connected to you and to communicate on a regular basis. In the days and weeks to come look for a steady offering of videos, Facebook Live events, text messages, calls, and emails. Please do not hesitate to let us know your needs and how we can be praying for you. We can’t do everything, but we can do a lot, even while following the strict guidelines we have been given.

We love you, church family. Though we hate the circumstances we find ourselves in, we are grateful that we are going through this together. Let’s do this well for the glory of God.

Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel,

The Staff and Elders
