Faith Bible Church, Coronavirus Response
Friday, June 26, 2020 Update

We reopened the church a month ago (May 24th) and feel like our collective effort to gather for corporate worship has been successful.

Our attendance grew incrementally the first few weeks and for the last two weeks (June 14th and 21st) we’ve had 560 people in worship and 60 kids in the nursery.

For two more weeks (June 28th and July 5th) we will continue with 9 AM and 11 AM worship services, offering early childhood care only, but on July 12th things will change.

On Sunday July 12th, we will be moving our worship times back to 9:30 AM and 11 AM. We are also planning to restart our elementary and student programs on that Sunday, as well as reassembling most of our ABFs.

A couple of measures we will be taking on July 12th and beyond:

  • We have contracted with a company to routinely sanitize our high use areas.
  • We will not be skipping rows in the Worship Center; however, we will be removing about a 25-30% of the chairs. This will allow us to generously space out rows, but not cut our capacity in half, keeping people from having to go to overflow.
  • The nursery will attempt to use rooms only once, and if they do use the same room twice, they will have a different set of toys for each hour (something they’ve already been doing).
  • Because of volunteer availability, our elementary kids will likely have some form of a large group meeting in the elementary theater (with distancing) and not meet as individual classes.

Speaking of volunteer needs. As we attempt to recapture volunteers the number of people available for our children’s ministry has been cut in half. Our older servants and those who are pregnant or at risk simply can’t commit to serving at this time. Many others are finding it difficult to make a long-term commitment to the ministry as well. If you are willing and available to temporarily (or permanently) serve in children’s ministry, please contact Connie Goodson to learn more about specific needs.

We hope you join us online or in person this Sunday. It will be week 3 of our Study of 1 Corinthians 13–A More Excellent Way. This week Mark will preach from verse 4. We’ll also install 2 new elders—Derry Myers and Tony Bostwick. We are grateful that God has called out these two men to serve our body.

Services will be streamed live on our webpage, facebook page, vimeo site, and YouTube.

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel,
