Faith Bible Church, Coronavirus Response
Wednesday, April 15, 2020 Midweek Update
Dear Church Family,
First, we want to thank you for all of the kind words and notes of appreciation you’ve been passing along to the staff and elders. Whether it be a Facebook comment, an email, or a handwritten letter your thoughtfulness has been a great encouragement to all of us, and your continued financial support for the church has been overwhelming.
After Easter we typically turn our ministry attention to the summer, but there are still so many variables impacting those decisions we will not roll out summer opportunities until the first of May, at the earliest. Be in prayer for those in leadership as we make decisions about Vacation Bible School, summer camps, and our other summer activities.
Also, we will continue to gather remotely until at least the 26th of April. No one is quite sure what May will bring, but even if restrictions get relaxed we anticipate some sort of augmented schedule in the first month back. We’ll communicate those plans as soon as decisions are made. Pray that we have wisdom.
Here is today’s video devotional. This one is from Jay – We have been ‘put here’:
Faith Works of the Inner City – Faith Works is still operating! Sally Goin and her team are providing meals and other essential services to the people in the Shidler neighborhood. If you’d like to give to help Faith Works please go here and select “FaithWorks-Sally Goin” from the drop down menu.
The Bocek’s – It was shared in a previous email that Fikret and Darlene were hospitalized with Covid-19. They have been released from the hospital and are half-way through their mandated quarantine. Praise the Lord!
Kenya Short Term Team – The Kenya team is looking at early Fall to reschedule the previously suspended trip. Please pray for clarity in those decisions.
Steven and Grace Scruggs – Steve and Grace are long-time church members who have been called to serve cross cultural workers overseas. If you want to learn more about where Steve and Grace are being led, please email or call (405) 205-5413) them and see how you can be of support.
The livestream will again be airing at 9:30 AM on Sunday. Mark will be preaching a message from Philippians 4:10-13 titled Coronavirus and Contentment.
We look forward to bringing that service to you remotely and pray the Lord’s blessing upon you.
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel,
-The Faith Bible Staff and Elders
