AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH (Your Eternal Destiny According To The Bible)

We are living in a day when all religions are perceived to be saying about the same thing. Namely, “Believe in ___________ (name of god), become a religious person by ________________ (rules to live by), and if you follow these rules well enough you will qualify for something good when you die (heaven, Nirvana, reincarnation, etc).”

However, the teaching of the Bible (Biblical Christianity) is an entirely different concept than all other such systems. The God of the Bible becomes the greatest demonstration of LOVE that anyone could ever imagine. The God of the Bible puts into practice Jesus’ famous saying that “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). I have tried to present this awesome truth in the following nine precepts:

  1. God Will Judge The Life You Lived Here On Earth

    • “. . . the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God will give to each person according to what he has done.” – Romans 2:5b-6
    • “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,” – Hebrews 9:27
  2. God’s Judgment Will Be Based Upon Whether You Lived A Good (Righteous) Life Or Not And Will Result in Either Eternal Life In Heaven Or Not

    • “To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.” – Romans 2:7-8

    • “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” – Matthew 25:46

    • “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.” – John 5:28–29
  3. God’s Standard Is So High That You Cannot Possibly Obtain Enough Goodness (Righteousness) By Human Effort To Satisfy God’s Justice

    • “‘Why do you call me good?’ Jesus answered. ‘No one is good—except God alone.'” – Mark 10:18
    • “But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.” – Romans 2:5
    • “As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.’” – Romans 3:10–12
  4. God Loves You So Much That He Has Provided Another Way For You Obtain Enough Goodness (Righteousness) To Satisfy God’s Justice

    • “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.” – Romans 3:21
  5. God’s New Way Required His Son, Jesus Christ, To Pay The Penalty Your Sins Deserved

    • “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” – 1 Peter2:24
    • “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. . . .” – 1 Peter 3:18
  6. God Will Count Your Faith As Goodness (Righteousness)!

    • “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” – Genesis 15:6
    • “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” – Romans 3:22
  7. However, Your Faith Must Be Placed In God’s Saving Promise Alone

    • God’s Saving Promise: “I Will Give You Enough Righteousness To Satisfy My Just Judgment To Receive Eternal Life If You Will BELIEVE That I Have Accepted The Blood Sacrifice On The Cross Of My Risen Son, Jesus Christ, As Full Payment For The Judgment That Your Sins Deserve.”
    • “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
    • “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21
    • “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” – John 3:36
    • “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” – John 5:24
  8. You Could Express Your Faith In God’s Saving Promise Like This:

    • An Expression of Faith: “Dear Lord, I Believe That God Has Accepted The Shed Blood Of His Risen Son, Jesus Christ, On The Cross As Full Payment For The Judgment My Sins Deserve And Has Declared Me To Be Righteous Enough To Receive Eternal Life.”

    • “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
  9. “Do Not Stand Before God’s Judgment With Only Your Own “Righteousness!”

    • “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” – Isaiah 64:6
