As we come to the close of 2016 and start looking toward all that 2017 will hold, many of us begin to reflect on where God has brought us from the previous year. This is exactly what I have been doing as I examine where I was over a year ago before God brought me on staff at Faith Bible and where God has taken me at the end of 2016.
Sarah and I were blessed to have attended Faith Bible Church for several years before I came on as a staff member. It was the only church we ever visited after graduating from OSU and moving from Stillwater. We immediately knew that it was exactly what we were looking for in a church and therefore we began to get more involved by joining the Nearly and Newly Married class, attending the Agape Feasts we had monthly, and making friends with other couples and families in the church. For Sarah and I, Faith Bible had become home. We had considered moving out of Edmond at times but we never wanted to go too far from our church family.
I always knew that God had wanted me in the church ministry in some way and so when the opportunity arose for me to join the staff at Faith Bible I had a peace about accepting the job like none before. There were so many things I was excited to start working on and I can honestly say that as I come to then end of 2016 that the excitement has never died. I look forward to going to work every day and being involved in what the Lord is doing at Faith Bible Church. I have enjoyed getting to know even more of you at the church than I did before. I cherish the friendships and comradery that I have developed with all the staff members. My family is happier than ever with the work I’m involved in. I’m exactly where God wants me to be and it couldn’t be better. Thank you Lord for not letting me get in the way of your plan for my life.
After the presents have been opened, the feasts eaten, and time with family comes to a close this Christmas season don’t forget to look back and reflect on what God has done for you over this past year. Be thankful and then start anticipating the amazing things God has planned for His people and His ministry in 2017.
May God bless you and your family this Christmas.
